USD 383 Staff: Resetting Your Password and Wi-Fi Connection
Hey USD 383 Staff!
This message is for anyone who needs to reset their password for district accounts.
Here's how to do it:
- Log in using your current password.
- Find the "Change My Password" option and update your password.
Strong Passwords Matter!
- Make sure your new password is at least 12 characters long.
- Length is more important than complexity for everyday passwords.
- Instead of easily guessed dates or names, try using a password phrase that's easy to remember but hard to crack.
Important Update Your Wi-Fi Connections!
After changing your password, you'll need to reconnect to USD383 Wi-Fi on all your devices. This includes MacBooks, iPads, and even your personal phones if they connect to the school district network.
Why? If you don't reconnect, your account might get locked out temporarily.
Here's the deal: you have two separate passwords:
- This one: Applies to your district login, cloud stuff (like O365), and the district system itself.
- Your MacBook password: It unlocks your laptop itself.
To change your MacBook password, you'll need to head over to your laptop settings.
Don't worry, the change you made here is still important! It will keep your district accounts secure.
